Some of the prominent ones relate to industry readiness of the graduating students, lack of exposure of faculty to industry culture and practices, poor stress on problem solving attitude inculcation etc. I strive to address these and many more critical issues not mentioned here. My past experience and exposure outlined below helps me in a big way to chalk out appropriate strategies to address these. The opportunities to work on many challenging research and development projects/products in the fields of smart meter/transmitters, embedded systems, real-time networks/field buses, model based control systems, and spatial technologies empower me to contribute my best to the education system. Many of these project have involved multidisciplinary approach which is an essential attribute of all real-life products/systems. I still continue to enjoy exploring innovative solutions to problems around me and arouse interest of people around me which include students and faculty. Specialties: Architecting IoT applications, ultrasonics for Flow Measurement, Ultrasonic (Ceramic/Polymer) Transducer modeling and Characterization, Smart Metering and Smart Grids, Low-Power Embedded Systems, Systems Level Modeling for Designing Embedded Systems, Real Time Systems, Computer Networks and Distributed Computing, Artificial Intelligence for Pattern Recognition/Image Processing, Soft Computing for decision support and optimal solutions, plant/process modeling for deriving control systems, Industrial Control and SCADA, GIS and Spatial Decision Support Systems
